The Relish Caterers + Event Planning Summer Entertaining series – Late Summer Edition. August 14th, 2012
Summer and showers seem to go together. Bridal Showers and Baby Showers are super popular in the Summer months Here are a few high impact, low stress ideas to make your next shower a “Sunny” one.
1. Lovely Lace: This napkin display can replace the need for a fancy centerpiece and can be the focal point of any table display. Cut a piece of lace about 12 inches long in the color of your choose. Wrap the lace around the rectangle napkin one and tie a bow (making sure not to pinch the edges of the napkin). Simply slide a long stemmed flower between the lace and the napkin. If you use roses, make sure the thorns are removed. (You do not want your guests to use their napkins to clean their bleeding fingers!)
2. Circular Centerpiece: Buy 3 inexpensive glass bowls, increasing in size. Tie 3 groups of 3 flowers together and place a bundle in each bowl. Stack the bowls in descending order, like you are making a snowman. You can make this creation with any flowers, or sand and some shells in each bowl, or you can fill each bowl half way with loose glitter. You can try tinted glass also!
3. Bow Napkin: Creating a cute an chic bow design with your napkin is simple and painless! Just cut a wide ribbon long enough to make a ring your napkins and fit through that pinches them a bit. Try to find a ribbon in a color similar to your napkin and a width proportional to the length of your napkin. Glue the ribbon and let dry. Slide the napkin through your ribbon ring place your bow in the center of your plate.
