With Labor Day right around the corner, start planning your party now. Here are a few table design ideas that will add some spark to your table top.
1. Calm waters: Buy a tall and thin glass cylinder or a bowl. Fill the first inch of the cylinder/bowl with gravel, or peddles for a more organic look. Slowly pour enough water to fill the container half way. Once the water has settled, use a spoon to fish out any debris that may be floating to the top. Once the water is clean, insert floating tea lights. Try using a fun shaped tea light or simple flowers.
2. Wine Lamps: A few of these fixtures look great as a centerpiece. If possible, use glasses varying in size. Three wine glass per table should give a great ambiance to your event. All you have to do in order to create this elegant look is to drop a tea light (if you are in an indoors venue, or you are weary about having an open flame so close to paper on the table, just use battery operated votives instead of tea lights). To create the shade, cut sheets of vellum in a slight U shape. Sizing may take a bit of practice, but once you get one down right, use it to make a stencil for your other shades. Once you have made your shades, decorate them with ribbon or marker along the edge.
