These seasonal place cards would be a great way for a simple table setting to pop with color and texture. Try placing one place card on each guests' plate and leaving off a centerpiece. Everyone's eyes will be drawn to the plants without the table feeling overcrowded.
What you'll need:
- small galvanized pails
- small Styrofoam® balls
- floral cutters
- hot glue gun + glue sticks
- floral moss
- jute twine
- small 1/8″ dowel(s)
- double-stick tape or Xyron
What you'll need to do:
Place a small Styrofoam ball in the bottom of each galvanized pail.
Cut the stem off each succulent. Stick the succulent into the Styrofoam ball and secure in place with a bead of hot glue.
Fill in and around the succulent with moss to help cover up the Styrofoam.
Cut strips of ribbon and glue one strip around the center of each pail.
Cut lengths of jute twine and tie in a bow around the ribbon. If you find that the twine is shifting, hold it in place with a dollop of hot glue.
Cut a 1-1/2″ square from cardstock and a square of brown kraft paper in the same size.
Lettered each name on the kraft paper square, then attach it face out to the cardstock using my Xyron double-stick adhesive.
Place a wooden dowel between the name tag and another piece of cardstock tag.
Use adhesive dots to attach together, hiding the backside of the dowel.
Trim your dowel to the desired length and insert into the pail, pushing it into the Styrofoam to secure in place.
